Instrumentation
Weibel Scientific’s instrumentation radar technology is ideal for precise measurements of free-flying objects, such as drones, air-drops, projectiles, artillery rounds and rockets.
Based on industry-leading Doppler X-band radar technology, spectrum analysis and digital signal processing systems, our equipment is used in a variety of different situations, including in ballistics, aerial and aerospace.
Weibel’s instrumentation radars incorporate continuous-wave (CW), multi-frequency continuous-wave (MFCW) and frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) waveforms for optimal performance.
Our solutions typically consist of monopulse Doppler radar antennas, high-performance pedestals, real-time multi-object tracking processors and state-of-the-art waveform generators, all controlled from the operator console.
The systems are highly effective for detailed debris tracking, range safety tests and missile tests. Our systems can also be easily used for velocity measuring, forensics and test center measurements.
Real-time and post-processing data
Weibel instrumentation tracking radar systems measure velocity, range, azimuth angle, elevation angles, debris, spin acceleration, and micro motion of multiple targets. This means that you get time space positional information (TSPI) data on any free-flying object for both real-time and post-processing analysis.
Our systems can also provide three-dimensional (3D) trajectory and radial velocity data.
Advantages of instrumentation radar technology
Ruggedized design for all sizes
The transmitting and receiving devices are microstrip array antennas, and all components in the system are entirely solid state. With the combination of ruggedized mechanical structures and robust electronic design, the system is highly reliable and resistant to blasts and vibrations.
The scalability of our tracking radars means you can select just the right solution for the job. Depending on the specific radar model, Weibel offers everything from portable two-person systems to larger systems that can be installed on trailers, ships or land-based platforms.
Intelligent software
The intelligent user interface allows for either manual or automated control of the system’s antenna opening angles, waveforms, power output, servo modes and data-processing algorithms. It can also work as a simple configuration for the inexperienced operator or as an advanced mission scenario created by a system specialist.
Modular systems
All of Weibel’s radar systems are based on a modular principle. Our state-of-the-art equipment forms the building blocks for almost all Weibel systems. This means you can easily upgrade your system or exchange parts as necessary. In addition, our experienced technicians provide all the personal assistance you need for making additions or upgrades to your system.
